New Year's Eve
New year's eve and new year's day are the most important day for Japanese people. Japanese people gather with relatives and eat traditional food. I tell you about how I spend New year's eve every year.
I, My brother, and My uncle who is my mother's younger brother go to the fish market in Omaezaki in the early morning. We buy a lot of fish such as tuna, alfonsino, scallop, salmon. My uncle has a cook's license and he is very good at cooking so, we buy a fish which is not sliced.
My family goes to grand parents' house in the afternoon and then we cook a lot of meals such as sushi, tempura, deep-fried breaded cutlet, potato salad. We eat dinner and have a fun time. Finally, we come home and eat a special soba noodle which is called toshikosisoba in Japanese. Soba is easier to cut than other noodles, so eating soba on the day means breaking off this year's disaster.
